Camden Passage prepares for End of Summer Festival

September 20, 2018

A mini-festival to mark the resilience of traders after major flooding takes place in Camden Passage in Angel this Saturday (September 22) with music, entertainment and giveaways.

Traders are making the best of funding from the Thames Water Community fund, which was established to support businesses affected by a flood in 2016. They’re holding an End of Summer Festival.

The event, which coincides with national Car Free Day, will include pop-up mini parks, free bike maintenance, a prize draw and more bunting than you can shake a stick at.

Basil Fansa of the Local Buyers Club, said: “Camden Passage has such a brilliant sense of community – the flooding hit the area hard, with many businesses having to close for months as repairs were carried out. As well as being a celebration of the resilience of those businesses, this event marks Camden Passage’s 251st birthday. It looks set to be a lot of fun."

Two of the businesses signed up to the Local Buyers Club will be taking part in the event. Ethical  health shop EpicZen will be offering free freshly made vegetable juice. Atomic, which sells vintage vinyl and classic comics, is inviting people to design an album cover and share pictures online to be in with a chance of winning a £100 voucher.
