Yikes - it's happening. More than 90 businesses and households across Hackney and Walthamstow are taking part in Trick or Eat 2021 - collecting vital supplies for local food banks.

Check out the Trick or Eat Trail map to find where to donate and keep an eye out for posters in streets near you. The boxes will be outside between around 4pm and 8.30pm on Sunday October 31st and, if you're visiting Stoke Newington, many of the shops will be handing out treats and collecting for Trick or Eat between 3pm and 6pm as part of their annual Halloween Trail.

Food donated will be passed to Hackney Foodbank and the PL84U AL-SUFFA food bank in Walthamstow.  This year supporters are asked to donate five basic foods - tinned soup, tinned fish, tinned meat (corned beef), longlife meat and longlife juice.

Last year’s Trick or Eat collected five tonnes (four lorries) of food for people experiencing hardship. Residents from dozens of Hackney streets put collection boxes outside their homes and encouraged local families to donate non-perishable food while out trick or treating.

Jenna Fansa, of the Local Buyers Club, said: “For families who are worried about trick or treating this year, Trick or Eat is a lovely, safe way of enjoying Halloween and helping people who are experiencing hard times.
