Ask many shoppers what’s the barrier to living more sustainably and they’ll tell you “convenience.” Here in London the tide is turning as new companies emerge and older companies adapt to bring sustainable products to your door.

Here are 10 independent London companies with a big conscience




If you live in Hackney or Islington, book in a visit from Badger the zero waste Top up Truck!

Operating from an old electric milk float – this new business brings plastic-free shopping to your street. Simply bring your clean and empty containers outside and stock up on a range of ethical products from cereal, pasta and pulses and snacks to cleaning and bathroom products. DabbaDrop delivers delicious, vegetarian curries by bicycle to your door in reusable ‘dabba’ tins so there’s no waste. Set up by Hackney friends Renee and Anshu, this gorgeous local company serves bold, bright, wholesome food that’s packed with flavour. Anshu, whose family come from Mumbai, uses her mum’s recipes for inspiration.

Honeybees are essential for the planet's survival - without pollinating insects, many plants and crops wouldn't grow.
