Landmark year for London's shop-local club
This past year has been a whirlwind - the Local Buyers Club team have worked harder than ever to help as many small businesses as possible and now our shop local club and discount card is going London-wide.
Four years ago we launched the Local Buyers Club in Stoke Newington, Islington and Crouch End - now the club offers discounts and perks all over the capital including Walthamstow, Battersea, Greenwich, Hackney, Twickenham, The City, Bethnal Green, Wandsworth and more.
Our dream is that wherever you go in London you'll be able to find brilliant businesses offering savings to Local Buyers Club members. We're on the right track.
Basil Fansa, co-founder of the Local Buyers Club, said: "When lockdown hit we set to work launching My Virtual Neighbourhood - a London-wide directory of small businesses - it has generated hundreds of thousands of pounds of trade for independents across the capital. Through that we've been able to spot some fabulous businesses, which we've invited to join the Local Buyers Club.
"As well as enabling us to expand our membership in those new areas, our growth means our members benefit all the more! Many of the businesses which have signed up to the Local Buyers Club deliver - so you can benefit from membership and support London's small businesses from anywhere. We are motivated purely to help people discover and support London's best independents."
Among the recent businesses to sign up the club are Andi's Wadadli, run by Andi Oliver of the Great British Menu, Sensab skincare, Outlandish Creations, Circla, Climpson & Sons Coffee, Fridge of Plenty, Top up Truck, Rogue Opera, All's Well, Ohelo, Goodordering and Gabriella Sandham.
And the club is a big hit with local breweries and wine suppliers - with Deviant & Dandy, ORA Brewing, Mondo Brewing Company, By The Horns Brewing Company, My Natural Wine, Ourglass among those offering discounts to Local Buyers Club members.
